No Image – Demo 2007 CD (self-released)
Four tracks of fast, fun, hardcore punk from Connecticut on this, the band’s first demo, and to be fair, it already reeks of a band that could be pretty big in certain circles. It’s all here: shout-along choruses, stompy mosh parts, lyrics about unity, bass solos, the usual. They do it pretty well, to be honest, with a seemingly large amount of conviction. Think Gorilla Biscuits meets Token Entry, and you’ve got a certain idea of the sound No Image have going on. If you like fun yet abrasive hardcore punk, you should check these guys out.

No Image – demo 2007 (Smorgasbord Records)
No Image from Connecticut is a new hardcore band featuring old lads and playing old style hardcore / punk music! Ex members of Disaster Party, The Spoilers and Boiling Man, among the others, got together with Jeff Terranova (owner of Smorgasbord Records – responsible for some great hardcore records, ex – Up front and Windfall) and started playing hardcore / punk the way they love it; fast, loud, old school! Put in the mix Token Entry, Minor Threat, Infest and even Sham 69 and you’ll get No Image. The demo consists of 4 catchy songs and has become one of my favorites!

No Image - 4-Song Demo - Self Released
John Martin
I was able to check out Connecticut's No Image when they played the Government Issue Reunion show in Washington DC on September 23rd. In a live setting, I was highly impressed. I was sure to pick up their 4-Song Demo CD. Would their recordings measure up against their frenetic live show?
Of course seeing any good hardcore band live is always a more preferable environment. A hardcore show is an experience that both performer and audience can participate in. If you don't check your bands out live at a show when they come through your area, then you're not really into hardcore. Unfortunately, we can't go to a No Image show everyday. Yet we can listen to their CD every day like i have been since I saw them in DC.
For a demo, the sound is pretty good. It could be a little more beefy, however, it isn't weak in any sense. The songs are tight and the overall musicianship sounds nearly flawless. The vocals are crisp and delivered without constraint. No Image feature ex members of Up Front, The Spoilers and Disaster Party to name a few. They play straight forward New York Youth Crew-style hardcore. If you're into such bands as; Mouthpiece, Bold and Youth Of Today...you'll definitely dig this band!
Rating: 4.5/5
Songs Worthy of Replay: ALL OF 'EM!! [Still Here, Rat Race, Nutmeg United & No Image]

No Image, No Image (noimagect.com). Four-song demo which the band is selling at shows is a blast of reassuring old-school anthemic punk from one of CT Hardcore's more reliable veterans and boosters, Jeff Terranova (here relegated to bass). Lead screamer Toby Hampp's trite emissions like "Rat Race—you're never gonna win" have fleeting meaning. Kevin MacKenzie drums doublefast just 'cause he can, and Gary MacConnie plays all three chords. Who won't love a spleen-busting bit of scene-loving like "Nutmeg United"? Hey, New Haven has its own Sham 69.
